The business was founded in 2021 following an opportunity to work with a premium residential and commercial developer to deliver one of its key projects in Newstead, Queensland.
It is from this collaborative foundation we’ve built a business that is centred around an open, communicative and client-focused approach to project delivery. The key to this success has been finding clients that want an honest and straight-shooting team involved in their projects from the beginning.
Our business model relies on the three directors always maintaining a hands on role on the projects we engage in.
The business was started by three like-minded construction professionals who all have very similar values and beliefs but also have very different strengths, backgrounds and experience within the construction industry.
The three founding directors of the business are Angus Leaney, Daniel Palella and Mark Short.
Mark is a results focused project management specialist with a track record of successful project delivery in complex and challenging environments. Mark combines his exceptional leadership with his demonstrated coordination skillset and commercial acumen. His experience covers many sectors including residential, retail, commercial, mining and government projects.
Mark has experience in medium to large scale project delivery and extensive understanding of all project fundamentals including programming, subcontracts and administration, cost control, forecasting and reporting and has a client and end user focus. Recent Project History:
Dan comes to LPS Group following an 11 year career within the construction industry, including working with a subcontractor, a small and nimble tier 3 builder and two of the biggest construction contractors in Australia. This varied background has instilled in Dan a drive to ensure he is across the detail of all aspects of a project but to also keep a firm grasp on the big picture.
Throughout his career he has completed several roles from estimator, contract manager, project coordinator through to project management where he has been able to effectively manage, even on the most challenging projects, to achieve financial targets that adhere to program, quality and safety expectations.
Dan’s strengths lie in methodically planning and setting projects up for success, including ensuring the correct number and location of plant, equipment and resources and building a team foundation where people are driven to the same outcome. Daniel holds an open QBCC builder’s license and is the nominee for LPS Group.
Recent Project History:
Angus is a qualified engineer with an eye for detail and focuses on coordination of design and the works to ensure all constructability issues are resolved early and not cause delay to our projects. His background is in project coordination on largescale projects involving extremely complex detailing with a focus on façade systems and high end finishes.
Angus’s area of strength is fastidiously working through the details of a project to ensure that they can be carried out in line with the client’s expectations, and ensuring subcontractors understand these expectations.
This input in the early stages of a project will ensure that the common detailing issues that can cause cost and time blow outs on projects are resolved in a timely manner.
